Hoy les vengo a mostrar una entrevista de una de mis mejores amigas bloggistas:

Lo que me encanta del mundo de los bloggers es que tienes la gran oportunidad de hacer amigos a través del todo el mundo. Pero es mejor cuando tienes la oportunidad de hacer amigos cerca de donde vives.
Esmirna la conocí a través de un correo electronico que me envió cuando estaba en España el año pasado, ella me empezó a contar que también ella era petite como yo y que también tenía un blog de estilismo.
Después de ese correo, Esmirna y yo nos hicimos amigas instaneamente.
Hemos celebrado nuestros cumpleaños juntas. Conocí a su esposo.
No solamente porque ella sea mi amiga la quise entrevistar, sinceramente me gusta mucho su estilo por que es más arriesgado que el mio. Cada look que ella sube en su blog es diferente y único.

1. Para comenzar, ¿Quién es
Esmirna y cuáles son sus pasiones?// To start, Who is Esmirna and what are her passions?
Esmirna es una chica de 25 años
que le encanta la moda (aparte de la ropa claro, también todo lo que tiene que
ver con el lado de negocios de la industria y mercadotecnia), la música, el
arte, y el poder expresarse a través de
su blog, Platforms for Breakfast. Es una esposa, una persona de carácter
fuerte, muy trabajadora, y su motivación mas grande es el saber en donde quiere
estar en su vida y carrera en el futuro.
Esmirna is a 25-year-old girl who loves fashion
(aside from the clothes, of course, everything that has to do with the business
side of it), music, art, and getting the chance to express herself through her
blog, Platforms for Breakfast. She is a wife, a person with a strong character,
a hard worker, and her greatest motivation is knowing where she wants to be in
life career and personal-wise in the future.
2. ¿Cuál es el
concepto de Platforms for Breakfast?// What is the concept of Platforms for Breakfast?
El concepto es algo simple- yo empecé
el blog con la intención de publicar mis atuendos semanales y ver como progresaba
mi estilo a través del tiempo. Era algo
que empecé para mi misma, y ahora en ocasiones, también escribo sobre lo que
esta pasando en mi vida- tipo diario. Es interesante ver atrás y leer sobre
cosas que estoy pasando en ese momento!
The concept is something simple- I started this
blog with the intention of posting my weekly outfits and see how my style
progressed as time passed. It was something that I began for myself, and now on
occasion, I also write about what’s going on in my life- like a diary of sorts.
It’s interesting to look back and read about what happened on a certain day!
3. Actualmente vives en Arizona pero eres toda una chica de California. Cuéntanos si ha sido
todo un reto la diferencia de clima a la hora de vestirte. También si te ha
influenciado el vivir en un lugar diferente a San Diego.// Currently you are living in Arizona but you're a Californian girl. Tell us if it has been a challenge to dress up with such different weather.
Cuando me moví a Arizona hace 3
años por la escuela, lo único que traía era ropa que consistía de suéteres,
botas, y chaquetas. El clima en San Diego es súper distinto al de acá- no hay
tanta humedad, no hace frio (mas que por unos dos meses al final del año), y es
muy caliente. Al principio, era un problema vestirme a la hora de ir a mis
clases porque aunque estuviera hirviendo afuera, adentro de mi escuela estaba
heladísimo. Aprendí a hacerme una experta en combinar piezas que nunca pensé poner
juntas, como crop tops y faldas largas, o pantalones con zapatos de plataforma.
Ahora tengo mas variedad en mi closet con menos ropa (si eso hace sentido)!
When I moved to Arizona 3 years
ago for school, the only thing my wardrobe consisted of was sweaters, boots,
and jackets. San Diego’s weather is a lot different than what it is here-
there’s no humidity, it’s not cold (except for about 2 months at the end of the
year), and it’s very hot. At first, it was a problem getting dressed for school
because even though it was over 100 degrees out, it was freezing in my
classrooms. I learned to become an expert in combining pieces I would’ve never
thought of putting together, like crop tops and long skirts, or pants with
platform shoes. Nowadays I have a wide variety of clothing in my closet with
less clothes (if that makes sense!)
4. Tu peor y mejor look.// Your Worst and Best Look
Unos de mis peores looks es este
atuendo que me puse para conocer a la banda, the All-American Rejects en Abril
del 2012. Uno de mis favoritos es este que me puse recientemente; estoy usando
una chaqueta de H&M y pantalones tartán de Topshop.
One of my worst looks would have
to be this colorful outfit I wore to meet the All American Rejects in April
2012. One of my best is this recent one, wearing an H&M jacket and Topshop
plaid trousers.
5. Te felicitó por ganar el
premio de ir a Las Vegas y ser una de las 8 bloggers para WWWDMAGIC. Tu blog poco
a poco está ganando presencia en el mundo blogger. ¿Cuáles crees
que sean los pasos para tener un blog exitoso?// Congratulations on winning the award to go to Las Vegas and be one of 8 blogger to go to WWWDMAGIC. Your blog is slowly gaining presence in the blogger world. What do you think are the steps to have a sucessful blog?
Creo que para tener un blog
exitoso tienes que primeramente ser tu misma a todo momento. Tu blog debería de
reflexionar tu estilo, tu personalidad, y nunca tratar de ser alguien mas. También creo que tener un blog que sea fácil
de navegar, que tenga fotos claras, y que tenga entradas en las cual puedas
conectar con tu audiencia es crucial. Otra
cosa es la dedicación que tu le pones a tu sitio. Cuando no le dedicas tiempo a
lo que subes, se nota, y las impresiones que dejas no son nada bueno. Y lo
ultimo (y unas de las cosas importantes) es que tus lectores puedan relacionarse
contigo y confiar que le responderás a
sus comentarios o correos electrónicos, porque sin ellos, tu blog no seria lo
que es.
I think that to have a successful
blog you need to primarily be yourself at all times. Your blog should reflect
your style, your personality, and never try to be someone else. I also think
that having a blog that is easy to navigate, that has clear pictures, and have
posts in which you can actually connect with your audience is crucial. Another
thing is the dedication that you put towards your site. When you don’t do this
and you upload a messy post, it shows, and the impressions you may leave are
not good ones. And the last thing (and this one is very important) is to have
your readers relate to you and trust that you will respond to their comments
and emails, because without them, your blog probably wouldn’t be what it is
today!
6. Adoro mucho tu estilo, Esmirna. Puedes ser muy femenino, a la vez muy
formal, preppy y todos los estilos por haber. ¿Cómo definirías el
estilo de Cece en tus propias palabras?//I love your style, Esmirna. It can be very femenine, preppy, formal and all the styles of the world.
El estilo de Esmirna es algo
raro y llena de variedad. Compro ropa de cualquier tienda, a cualquier precio.
La mayoría de las cosas que compro son de tiendas de segunda (mis piezas
favoritas son suéteres de los 80’s!). Me visto conforme a como me sienta ese día
o depende a donde vaya; mi conjunto debería de hablar sobre mi sin que yo diga
una palabra. Un día puedo salir vestida como una niña dulce, con un vestido y suéter
ligero, y el día siguiente como una chica rockera, con botas de combate y una
chaqueta de piel. Me encanta tener a la gente tratando de adivinar que me
pondré en nuestro próximo encuentro.
Esmirna’s style is something rare
and full of variety. I practically shop anywhere, at whatever price. The
majority of the things I purchase are from thrift shops (my favorite pieces are
sweaters from the 80’s!). I dress according to how I’m feeling that day or
depending where I am going; my outfit should speak for itself without having me
say one word. One day I can be dressed really sweet, with a dress and cardigan,
and the next I can be very edgy, with combat boots and moto jacket. I love to
have people guessing what I’m going to wear next!
7. Sé que también eres petite como yo, ¿Cuál ha sido tu reto el ser
petite?// I know you are petite like me, what i
El ser petite es un gran reto en
si mismo! Siempre batallo en encontrar vestidos o faldas a la medida que me gusta sin
que me hagan ver mas pequeña. Lo que me ayuda mucho es ponerme zapatos altos
para balancear mi look final.
Being petite is a challenge
itself! I have always struggled with finding dresses and skirts that are the
length I want without them making me look even smaller. What helps me out is to
wear tall shoes to balance my final look.
8. ¿De dónde obtienes inspiración para crear tus outfits y post?
La inspiración para crear mis
outifts viene de todos lados- de
revistas, música, artistas, otras bloggers, Pinterest, Instagram, etc.. Me
atraen ciertos colores, ciertas marcas, y ciertas tendencias. Siempre trato de
vestirme algo diferente, pero al mismo tiempo, ser fiel a mi propio estilo. Si
trato algo y no me gusta, no me pongo de nuevo.
The inspiration to create my outfits comes from
everywhere- from magazines, music, artists, other bloggers, Pinterest, Instagram,
etc.. I am attracted to certain colors, brands, and trends. I always try to do
something different with my outfits, but stay true to my style. If I try
something on and don’t like it, I don’t wear it again.
9. ¿Cuáles son tus blogs ó icons de estilo favoritos?// Which are your favorite blogs or fashion icons?
Tengo muchos blogs que me gustan
por razones diferentes, pero mis top cinco son The Blonde Salad (Chiara
Ferragni es una diosa de la moda!), Peace Love Shea, Cara Loren, Views of Now, y Atlantic-Pacific. Tambien me
encanta el blog de Refinery29 porque tocan muchas cosas en un solo lugar. Icons
favoritas son Mary Kate y Ashley Olsen, Olivia Palermo, y Alexa Chung (esas
piernas!) porque cada una tiene un estilo súper diferente, pero a la vez, sus
estilos combinados hacen el mio!
I like many different blogs for
different reasons, but my top five are The Blonde Salad (Chiara Ferragni is a
fashion goddess!), Peace Love Shea, Cara Loren, Views of Now, and
Atlantic-Pacific. I also enjoy Refinery29’s blog because they touch on many
topics in one place. As far as icons go, I am in love with the Olsen twins, Olivia
Palermo, and Alexa Chung (those legs!) because each of them has their own
style, but at the same time, when combined, they make mine!

Estoy
muy emocionada para los futuros proyectos del blog! No les puedo decir que
