Painting Flowers

miércoles, 28 de marzo de 2012

I was wearing:
Floral Maxi Skirt-Forever 21
Black Heels-Naturalizer
Black Cat Eyes Sunglasses-Asos
Vintage Golden Bag

First of all, thank you all so much for your comments on the last look, you guys made me like white a little bit more. Now, onto the entry…

Spring Break is coming and that means vacations. I’d love to say I’m going to rest in the beach but no; I’ll be in my city, and most surely working on the magazine and some school projects, like a photo shoot of the 7 deadly sins by my friend and photographer Karen Gomez. I hope everything comes out right.

The inspiration for my look was some flowers outside my career’s building. Since spring is here, the few flowers in my college are blooming. They’re gorgeous; I love walking to the design building and watch all those colorful flowers.

I love spring, sincerely. It’s not that cold or hot. The weather is perfect and you can match your winter and summer clothes.

As always, don’t forget to like my Facebook page.

White Blank Page

sábado, 24 de marzo de 2012

I think we all have a color we hate and we’d never use in our clothes. In my case, it’s white. I like it on other people, but not on me. I’ve never been a fan of this color, but when I saw this white lace dress last year at Forever 21, I bought it just to try. I think I’ve only used it two times, I just don’t feel comfortable wearing white. I tried and give it a chance once more, and that one day the weather was so hot, so I decided to wear it. I also wanted an excuse for my leopard print shoes.

At the second half of the day, I came back home and put some jeans and a peach t-shirt because I couldn’t stand white on me. I’ve felt like someone else.

Simply white and I are not friends. I don’t like the way it looks on me.

How about you? What is your hated or loved color to wear on your clothes?

Style Icon: Blair Wardolf

miércoles, 21 de marzo de 2012

Gossip Girl is one of my favorite tv shows. I love the drama and gossip, their characters and specially the fashion.  My favorite character is Queen B, Blair Wardolf.  She resembles me a lot in some aspects, like she and I are very strong, fashionable, childish, loyal to our loved ones and bitchy. But let’s talk about Blair’s style.

Her style is sophisticated, elegant, modern and sexy, all at the same time. She is a very feminine character and her role model is Audrey Hepburn.

We can’t talk about Blair Wardolf ‘s style without talking about her headbands. Blair’s trademark is the hairband. She used to wore them a lot during season one and two.

Queen B also loves dresses and tights. Blair’s dresses are colorful, fitted, short and feminine.

My favorite dress is the red one by Oscar de la Renta. Last year I bought a dress for a wedding that looked a lot like it.

Do you like Blair’s style?

Sorry for my absent during these days. I didn't feel inspire to post.  I will try my best to update more often.

What to Wear: Peter Pan Collars

jueves, 15 de marzo de 2012

I’ve always been a fan of girly things. Ever since I was a little girl I’ve been really dreamy, a fairytale lover. I’ve always been a little princess. I love laces, skirts, headbands with bows and dusty pink; and now fashion is giving me this new trend: Peter Pan Collars.

Peter Pan has always been one of my favorite book characters since I was young. Who didn’t want to go to Neverland and never grow up? Well, now thanks to his name, I love this collar even more.

This new trend will give you a very feminine and romantic look. If you love this kind of look, prepare your closet for this spring with this new collar. I don’t know if you remember, but in one of my favorite entries I showed you some stuff I bought, and I had a Peter Pan Collar.

Here are a few styles of this necklace so you can buy it this spring:

Actually, the Peter Pan Collar is easy and fun; there are many DIY videos to help you make your own. I hope you like it, and tell me what do you think about this trend?

Almost here.

Blue Closet

lunes, 12 de marzo de 2012

In Mexicali, the city where I’m from, people don’t care much about fashion; if you dress different than everyone else, they look at you like you were a freak. Everyone here wears Hollister or American eagle shirts, and they think that’s it to be in. Some don’t even care about their appearance at all.

Actually, it’s really hard to find good clothes in this little city I live in. Since my city is side by side with USA, everyone goes on weekend to Calexico to buy clothes at the mall; or if you have enough gasoline, you can go to San Diego which is about two hours from Mexicali.

Thank God in Mexicali just opened a new clothing store named ‘Blue Closet’. They sell second hand clothes and it’s a really cool place :D. The clothes are cheap and they have many interesting stuff. Finally, something different in my city. I’m glad someone decided to open this store. Here’s some clothes from the store, and if you can notice it has the fabulous Adriana Gastélum in their pictures <3.

Address:
Calzada de las Américas 238 Altos. Mexicali, Baja California.

Style Icon: Ulyana Sergeenko

jueves, 8 de marzo de 2012

My latest inspiration is the Russian model and photographer Ulyana Sergeenko. One of my friends was looking at her blog in class; I was impressed with her clothes. I asked her who the girl was, and when she told me I started researching.

This “It Girl” it’s a big sensation in Russia, what I loved about her is that she looks like she came out from a 50’s movie. She loves wearing high waist skirts in strong colors, having red lips and an accessory that stands out, like a bag, a cane or gloves. I wish I’d own her whole closet.

Not long ago, she started her own clothing line inspired on her style. I would really love to have any of her outfits; I’m simply going to leave the pictures to speak for themselves:
