Happy Anniversary Petite Fashion Monster

viernes, 31 de agosto de 2012

Petite Fashion Monster is one year old today. I feel incredibly happy thinking about all the things I've been through with this blog. It helped me mature, grow as a person, realize what was my style and make it better and meet new people, both from my city and from the outside.

It's been a dream come true to watching the blog grow up. Maybe it's not the most popular one, but having these 85 on GFC or 100 likes on Facebook makes me very happy.

I'm going to keep giving the best of me to make this blog bigger and keep it on track. Thanks to all the new and old followers of Petite Fashion Monster for your comments and advice. Thanks to On Photography for taking pictures of my looks lately. Thanks to Babassu Fashion for being my first sponsor. And thanks to Fashion Blog México too.

If you're reading this, thank you, really.
I would have loved to do a giveaway, but right now I'm not capable of organizing one. Hopefully I'll be making one soon. Wait for it.

Wishlist: Sunglasses

miércoles, 29 de agosto de 2012

My favorite pair of sunglasses, the cat eye sunglasses from Asos that I always wear, I lost them one day between school and home.  Most likely is that I left them on my desk…if you know me very well, I’m the most forgetful and distracted person of the world.

Now without sunglasses, my new assignment is to search from a new pair. These ones i liked it very much

Which one do you like more?

I was wearing:

Sunglasses: New York & Co.
Jewelry: Etcetera

I'm so in love with my Babassu Dress. I love the color and the back. I didn't want to used many jewelry in this look because I really want the dress to speak for itself. Lucky me, that day was very winding so it helped my hair to look nice.

Good news my petite monsters, in a few days the blog would have one year old. Wait for the anniversary  post ;D

Style Icon: Emma Watson

{The haircut that inspired to cut my long hair}

It’s been a year since I cut off my hair like Emma Watson, pixie style.

Ever since I was eleven I’ve been a fan of the Harry Potter books and movies, and I grew up watching the British actress Emma Watson, I really liked the way she dressed, it was simple and feminine but I never looked at her as a fashion icon, and I never thought that she would influence my dressing style, until she cut her hair two years ago.

It was shocking to see her pixie cut, we all had a big surprise, and I actually didn’t like it at all until I saw her Seventeen photo shoot on the august issue. The only reason I bought the magazine was to go to a hairdressing salon and cut my hair like that.

She inspired me to cut off my long hair; I had spent three years trying to make it grow. I wanted something new and refreshing. She looked so feminine with that cut that I really wanted it; I never wanted a haircut so badly. I actually felt liberated and it was something new in my life. Now my hair is over my shoulders, and it’s been a year. So fast.

After the haircut I watched carefully the way she dressed to learn how to combine my new haircut with a new style. Since she cut off her hair, Emma Watson improved her style and I love it. It’s still simple but with a distinguished-looking, and I think every girl from any social class and sizes could fit her dressing style because of its simplicity.

She’s a very stable girl, and I love her for being my Hermione.

Little monsters, I change the design of the blog, did you like it? I really love it, especially the color. Purple is my favorite color.

Red as Roses

{My baby Sophie <3}
I was wearing:

Vest: Forever 21
Jewelry: Etcetera
Floral Pants: Local Store

This week I went back to school and therefore I don’t have time for the blog. I have one class in the morning and I spend my whole afternoon there, consequently I don’t even get the time to go out and take pictures in the sun. I’m scared about the time zone changing. Yesterday I took these pictures of my outfit very quickly. I finally got some flowery pants and the best part is that I got them from a local store for 12 dollars. I was going to buy them on sheinside for 25 dollars, even though they were not expensive, saving 10 dollars is something, now I can buy another thing with the money I have left.

Greetings to everyone and I hope you’re having a good time, good luck in school if you’re already back or if you’re going back next week.

Oh my Kate!

Oh my Kate! For me, Kate Moss is the top model of modern era.  I love her.  Now she is the new face of Rag & Bone FW 12/13. The photos were taken on North London.

See ya!

Models on the Closing Ceremony.

lunes, 13 de agosto de 2012

Olympics Closing ceremony was pure perfection. I was singing and dancing at my room as crazy. The music was flawless(Ed Sheeran <3)  but then when Kate Moss(with an wonderful golden Alexander McQueen Dress) and Naomi Campbell showed up in the catwalk as goddesses. I was speechless. Their dresses were divine.  It was an incredible tribute to British Fashion.

To be really honest, I was disappointed that Agyness Deyn didn’t showed up. She is one of the favorite British Models.
I hope you enjoyed the closing ceremony very much. Now let's wait for Rio de Janeiro 2016.

I was wearing:

White Top: Babassu
Red Skirt: Forever 21
Yellow Bag: Oasap
Wedges: Tilly's
Jewelry: Etcetera

Hello there my little monsters!

I want to show you off my new white top; as you may have realized I’m wearing more white clothes little by Little. I love this white top from Babassu a lot. It’s really pretty and versatile. I’ve used it in tons of combinations. I can’t stop wearing it. For this look I decided to use a red skirt to feel fresh. Lately the heat at my city is insufferable. I had to wear a bun because I can’t take having my hair loose, and it’s short!

I got good news for you. First, if you watch the Olympics, you may have realized that Mexico won its first gold medal in men’s football. Everyone’s out there celebrating with their Mexican flags and partying. I’m not fond of football, but I’m very glad about Mexico winning a gold medal. They deserve it. Congrats.

Second, Petite Fashion Monster just got its second purveyor and it’s a jewelry store. I hope to be showing you my new jewelry soon and of course to talk you about it.

I send you all my regards.

Balboa Park +Outfit

{Photos by my aunt}

I was wearing:
Black Lace shorts-San Diego Local Store
White Blouse-Forever 21
Black Flats-Charlotte Russe
Jewelry-Etcetera (Local Store)

Yesterday I went to Balboa Park in San Diego. Balboa Park is an urban cultural park. It has a lot of museums, beautiful gardens, performing arts, dog parks and attractions. It was very fun and inspirational.   I fell in love with the Japanese Garden. I took pictures and bought some books like "Everything can Happen in a Day".

The outfit was very fresh and black & white. I'm in love with my black lace shorts for only 10 dlls on a local store in San Diego. I wore flats that day because I was going to walk a lot. At the end of day I was very tired.

Have a wonderful day.

My new babies!

sábado, 4 de agosto de 2012

I’m back from my vacations and I feel very relaxed. I had so much fun with my dad, my three year old little sister (who finally said my name correctly) and my brother. It was incredibly enjoyable. We boarded a boat, we tried the zip-wire, we ate a lot and we enjoyed the cold weather in Ensenada. Nothing compared to the heat of Mexicali, my city.

Since I had Money, I bought three books and a perfume. Lovestruck by Vera Wang was the one I bought, and at first I wanted it only because Leighton Meester is the face of the campaign, but then I smelt it and I wanted more. It smells like tangerine, according to my dad. The three books are fabulous, two of them are about fashion illustration, one explains drawing techniques, and the other is about clothes. The third book is my Game of Thrones novel, and is finally with me! I’m happy, now I have something to read at night.
